Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present the results of the evolution of the design of tools that have the function of sealing in certain areas in the buffer tube and through an equipment that by means of pressure differential validates the absence of leaks that could be caused by the welding processes at the moment of integrating elements to the buffer tube.
The particularity of this design lies in the fact that the tool allows performing two hermeticity validation tests in parallel, thus optimizing the process times; the conditions required in buffer tubes were identified in order to isolate the risk areas with the restriction that the tools could be used in the testing machine that originally performs tests individually. By means of tests, their operation was satisfactorily validated, thus avoiding serial processing for the performance of both tests.
